Guidewire Solution Architect

We specialize in providing solutions in the areas of IT Consulting, Artificial Intelligence, Data Solutions, Analytics and Process Solutions to government and commercial agencies.
We're hiring a Guidewire Architect to lead architecture and solution design across underwriting, policy administration, billing, claims, and commercial insurance platforms. This person will be responsible for defining practical, scalable Guidewire solutions that support business priorities while aligning with enterprise technology direction. The role works closely with stakeholders, cloud engineering teams, vendors, and delivery partners to make sure solutions are secure, high performing, and built for long-term sustainability. It also plays an important part in maintaining architecture standards, governance, and strong delivery practices that support PiTech's modernization strategy.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture and delivery of solutions across the Guidewire Insurance Suite, including Policy Center, Claim Center, Billing Center, and Contact Manager, with a focus on availability, security, resilience, and performance.
- Develop Guidewire solution and migration approaches, including legacy policy conversion, and provide clear cost, benefit, and risk analysis to support sound investment decisions.
- Own solution integrity across the full landscape, including interim states, while helping stakeholders navigate both immediate delivery needs and longer-term strategic goals.
- Translate complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences and document solution debt so it can be addressed over time.
- Identify risks early, recommend mitigation strategies, and contribute to post-implementation reviews to improve future solution outcomes.
- Stay current on Guidewire capabilities and the broader integration landscape, and evaluate opportunities to bring forward new features, including Guidewire Cloud Platform functionality.
- Set and maintain architecture standards and best practices, and carry out reviews to ensure quality and compliance expectations are met.
- Create and review design artifacts that address engineering, security, and service requirements.
- Coach and mentor team members support technical growth and knowledge sharing.
- Contribute to PiTech Solution's Architecture community by helping lead or support initiatives that strengthen design practices.
- Continue expanding technical knowledge so can benefit from relevant emerging technologies.
- Apply technical expertise to solve project-related challenges and recommend design approaches that align with policy and delivery processes.
- Respond to change with a proactive mindset by recommending improvements and helping shape design decisions as business needs evolve.
- Build effective relationships across internal teams, including project managers, platform specialists, and fellow architects.
- Work with suppliers and technology partners to stay informed on industry developments and keep specialist knowledge current.

Required Skills and Experience
- 10+ years of progressive experience delivering Guidewire architecture, integrations and cloud-based insurance technology solutions.
- Strong experience across underwriting, the full policy lifecycle, rating, endorsements, renewals, audits, and claims.
- Solid understanding of commercial product structures, including multi-location and multi-line products, schedules, packages, additional interests, and risk-specific coverage needs.
- Deep familiarity with submission intake modernization, including unstructured document ingestion, automated extraction, classification, and routing to underwriting teams.
- Hands-on knowledge of Guidewire Policy Center, Workbench, and ecosystem integrations, including CRM tools, broker platforms, document repositories, pricing engines, and appetite or eligibility APIs.
- Practical experience working with Guidewire Cloud Platform and related migration approaches.
- Experience using APD and the Integration Framework to address business needs.
- Background in architecting integrations between Guidewire and surrounding platforms, including document management, finance, payments, and exposure systems.
- Experience designing and implementing integration architecture in complex environments.
- Good understanding of digital technologies, cloud computing, and modern development practices.
- Cloud certification in platforms such as AWS or Azure.
- Strong grasp of end-to-end delivery methods, including Agile ways of working.
- Broad technical depth and the ability to apply the right solution across a range of business and customer scenarios.
- A technology-focused mindset with a drive to use innovation to improve customer outcomes.
